Details: | IBM Recalling Potentially Dangerous Notebook Computer Batteries: IBM recently announced a battery recall for many of their popular Thinkpad and Lenovo notebook computers purchased within the last 2 years (between February 2005 and February 2007). The recall is for most 9-cell batteries sold between November 2005 and February 2007, and for batteries manufactured by Sony between February 2005 and September 2006. This comes a few months after the recent battery recalls by Apple and Dell. ![]() To see if your Thinkpad/Lenovo notebook computer is affected:
![]() Considering laptop batteries typically only last 3-4 years before failing, and since replacement batteries usually cost $50 to $120, this could be a hot deal to get you a brand new battery for free which will last another 3-4 years. If your battery is recalled, wait to receive a new battery before sending your old one back. |
